COMPANY AND JUNIOR SECTION 6-A-SIDE FOOTBALL

Teams shall consist of up to 6 players plus 2 substitutes. Both substitutes may be used during each game. In addition each team will provide a linesman. Where possible the competition will be run on a league basis - 3 points for a goal, 1 point for a corner.

Each match will be 5 minutes only one way. Shin pads must be worn - no pads no play!

If in the 3rd and 4th place play off and final the score is equal then 1 minute each way will be played. If the scores are still equal penalties will be taken - first by all 6 players, then by nominated players (sudden death). Each game will start by the Referee dropping the ball in the centre of the field.. Play will start in a similar manner after each goal. There will be no offside. All free kicks must go forward - failure to do this results in the kick being taken again. Any player who is sent off the field of play will not be allowed to take part in any

further game in the competition and no substitute will be allowed to take his place in that current game. Any player may play in goal at any time provided the Referee is informed before the change is made. Goalkeepers must wear distinguishing colours from the other players on the field. With the exception of the above rules the normal rules of football will apply.

The winners of each age group will be invited to represent the Battalion in the District Competition.

COMPANY AND JUNIOR 5-A-SIDE FOOTBALL

Each team shall consist of up to 5 players plus 2 substitutes. Substitution may only take place for injury at the discretion of the Referee. Footwear must be plimsolls or training shoes or light coloured soles. The playing area shall be marked with a centre spot and when possible be bounded by 4 walls. Where this is not possible any balls going out of play will be rolled into play with an underarm action by a player of the opposing side. As near as possible the goals shall be 3050 mm wide and 1220 mm high and a semi circle of 3660 mm radius shall be marked in front of the goal - this being the goal area.

The competition shall be played on a league basis on the same afternoon. The top teams from each section shall go through to the final. 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Where a section has 2 or more teams equal on points, the section winners shall be decided on goal average. All matches shall be 5 minutes only one way. Shin pads must be worn - no pads no play.

The ball shall be a suitable indoor ball. After the tossing of a coin by the Referee to decide which team shall have the kick off, the game shall be started by the ball being kicked backwards and must travel at least one metre before being kicked by another player. Failure to do this will result in the game being restarted. The ball must at all times be kept within 1220 mm of the ground. Penalty for infringement - indirect free kick at the point where the ball was kicked. If this should be the goalkeeper then a point 1830 mm outside the goal area nearest to the occurrence.

If the ball rebounds above 1220 mm high from any of the following situations then the Referee will restart the game by dropping the ball at the point where the rebound occurred:-
a) from a player who has made no attempt to play the ball.
b) when the ball in the opinion of the Referee was played simultaneously by 2 opposing players.
c) from a wall, barricade, goalposts, crossbar or any other obstruction.

Only the defending goalkeeper is allowed inside the goal area. Penalty for infringement -
a) by the attacking side - direct free kick at the point of entry into the goal area.
b) by the defending side - penalty kick taken from the point on the edge of the goal area and directly in front of the centre of the goal.

NOTE - Accidental entry into the goal area which has no effect on the play will not be penalised. Goalkeepers must stay inside this area at all times. Penalty for infringement - a penalty kick.

Goalkeepers who gather the ball with their hands must return the ball into play by rollig it out of the area with an underarm bowling action. Penalty for infringement - indirect free kick 1830 mm outside the goal area nearest the offence. A goal can be scored from any part of the field of play. Rebounds from the walls going directly into the goal from a free kick shall be awarded a goal. If the ball enters the goal from an indirect free kick without touching another player then it shall be rolled into play by the goalkeeper. All charging is forbidden. Penalty for infringement - direct free kick from the point of offence.

Any player who is sent off the field of play will not be allowed to take part in any further game in the competition and no substitute will be allowed to take his place in that current game.
