As you know the AGM was held this year, and minutes, diary, etc. will be sent out in due course.
An inaugural meeting was held at the Lighthouse Cafe, Pier Square, Weston-Super-Mare on the 20th July at 7.30 p.m. (The cafe is located on Weston Seafront overlooking the Grand pier).
This has been convened by Peter Roberts, one of our Reserve Officers, who is holding this initial meeting to ascertain the level of interest in forming a new Stedfast Association for Somerset. I am copying this to all our Reserve Officers (by post for those I do not have e-mail addresses for) and hope that they would go along to support Peter in this new project. There may be other officers/ex-officers who you know of who would like to come along to future meetings.
Below I detail a little about Stedfast for your information:-
Stedfast is run with The Boys’ Brigade Object as a priority.
It ultimately aims to obtain large numbers of former BB members who will rejoin “the BB family”.
Stedfast gives 100% support to the BB, often assisting local Companies financially, sometimes helping with badge classes and other Battalion/Company activities.
Stedfast supports BB events with their presence and when required with their help.
Stedfast always invites all Seniors when discharged to continue their BB life through Stedfast.
And finally – Stedfast does NOT interfere with BB activities but work alongside when requested.
If you can think of anyone who “fits the bill” then please inform them of this meeting, as Stedfast could make a big difference to our Battalion.
